» Finding Meaning in Life: Three Steps
By Ian Williamson | Published 09/9/2005 | Mindfulness | Unrated
So how do we find meaning The first step is through personal experiences experiences through something to which we are familiar and through someone we value. Develop your appreciation of beauty that is heightening your sensitivity to beauty such as in great art or wonders in nature. The most important of all these type of experiences is the love we feel toward each other. To love another and to demonstrate this to such an extent as to allow your beloved to develop and by doing this we will find that we develop meaning ourselves. Love is the highest purpose to which we can aspire.

» Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Crater is a true marvel and I believe unique in Africa; it is located between the lake Manyara National Park and the Serengeti. It was formed from an ancient volcano that erupted and then collapsed into the craters we see today. This is called a caldera and Ngorongoro Crater is the worlds largest unbroken caldera. It is thought that this volcano before it erupted and collapsed stood taller than its close neighbor Mt Kilimanjaro.

The warm Indian Ocean waters surrounding Pemba Island are home to thousands of species of tropical fish and exotic marine life. Not only is Pemba renowned for its pristine and un-spoilt coral reefs but also for its vertical coral cliffs which plummet to depths of more than 800 meters. Underwater visibility often reaches 40 meters or more. Looking over the precipice of some of the outer walls can be a mind blowing experience. Watch out for the Vertigo! There is stunning wreck dive available in the South of Pemba Island at Panza which is home to large groupers and Napoleon wrasse.

As you step onto the wharf the smell of cloves is carried on the breeze to greet you; immediately you are aware Stone Town is out of the ordinary. Arab dhows white-sails shaped like the crescent moon sail gently out of the harbor and pass along the miles of palm fringed beaches. Stone Town transports you into the past
» Western Kilimanjaro to Southern Serengeti
By Ian Williamson | Published 10/11/2005 | Destinations | Unrated
This safari is centered on the plains of Western Kilimanjaro and then moves across to the remote Southern Serengeti. Western Kilimanjaro camp is set in a private concession which means just that it is private and not a public park. It covers 75000 acres and borders Kenya's Amboseli National Park. The landscapes here consist of floodplains hills and acacia woodland. This destination is amazing as the camp is luxurious and game spotting is done against the dramatic back-drop of Mount Kilimanjaro. In the evening enjoy the stars of the southern sky and the amazing sight of Mount Kilimanjaro illuminated by moonlight.

By Ian Williamson | Published 10/14/2005 | Destinations | Unrated
Ngurdoto crater is found in Arusha National Park and is an awe-inspiring attraction on its own. It is a caldera of an extinct volcano; that is the remains of an ancient and large volcano. Ngurdoto has a ring road that allows fabulous views down into the lush crater interior. In the past it has only been possible to drive up and around the crater rim. The drive takes you through the misty forest of ancient Cedar trees inhabited by the nimble black and white colobus monkeys.

It is expensive but if you have come this far a few more dollars is worth the experience of seeing this land from the air.
